Kitesurfing kite repair – how to with The Kitesurf Centre
1: Canopy Repair
If your repair is less than 6 inches you can use spinnaker repair tape, it come is many colours so you can find the colour to match your kite.
Cut the tape 5cm longer tha the tear, round off each corner
Pull the kite canopy tight and stick the tape on the tear, repeat on the otehr side of the canopy.
Keeping the kite canopy tight means that the repair will not affect the kite during flight, sticking both sides stops water getting in under the tape.

2:Bladder repair
1st you need to find the puncture
If you are repairing a strut, takei it out first before putting under water, if you are repairing the leading edge it is easier to find the puncture first so you do not have to take the whole leading edge bladder out.
when taking out the bladders remember to tie some line to the end of the bladder or valve if its the strut, this allows you to pull them back in when finshed.
Put the bladder underwater to find the hole, mark witha biro and allow to dry. stick a rubber bladder repair patch over the hole.
Pull the bladder back in the kite using the line you attached before you took it out, try to pull it through gently to stop any twists.
